Sales Development Representative

Department: Outside Sales
Location: Portland, OR

General Summary:

The Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) are responsible for identifying and creating new qualified sales opportunities with prospective and current customers for their Inside Sales Specialists (Account Managers). The SDR will become a trusted resource and develop relationships with prospects, acting as the initial point of contact. This role will be primarily focused around researching the Prospect Accounts in their territory and performing outreach through emails, calls, and social media. The SDR will have the opportunity to work closely with Vetsource sales professionals and through mentoring develop their professional skills.

Essential Duties:

Include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Develop opportunities for the sales team from prospecting, marketing generated leads and partner leads.
  • Prospecting via telephone, social media (LinkedIn) and email with a high attention to detail
  • Consistently achieve qualified opportunity quotas to ensure territory revenue objectives
  • Develop and execute on a strong prospecting plan of attack, including email and call scripts
  • Track all relevant qualification and lead management activity using
  • Quickly learn the Vetsource product, effectively communicate the value proposition and be able to react to objections and competitive questions
  • Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest and develop accounts to stimulate opportunities
  • Disseminate opportunities to appropriate sales professional or account manager, providing in depth information needed to enable the most qualified demo’s
  • Help as needed to build awareness on special projects/events, recording all progress in Salesforce
  • Manage distribution of inbound leads

General Experience/Qualifications:

  • Excellent multi-channel communication
  • Exhibit a willingness to consistently take on new challenges.
  • Proven record of reliability and follow through
  • Ability to effectively listen and communicate information in a clear, calm, and concise manner.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent writing skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Must be team-oriented with a can-do mentality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong understanding of SDR and lead development best practices and procedures

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Required Education/Experience:

  • Associates degree or equivalent related experience
  • 1-3 years of proven excellence in business development, inside sales, and/or sales

Preferred Education/Qualifications:

  • Veterinary industry experience
  • Experience using Salesforce
  • Experience with sales enablement tools

Working Conditions:
